I recently had a few thoughts, about why some people succeed and why others fail.

I came up with the explanation, that those people who fail, probably lack a sense of long-term thinking.

We are all the same. We only differ in the gen composition, but we all have the same gene-set of 46 chromosomes (normally). Otherwise we wouldn’t be known as „humans“.

We are all equipped with the basics which define a human.

Some may be more intelligent than other, but they may also have shortcomings in other areas.

Overall anybody can learn the same things. The only factor which depends on learning a new skill, is TIME.

For some, the road is longer, for some it is shorter, but in the end, everybody can achieve a skill. I am convinced of that to a 100%. You can prove me wrong on this one, but I think it is better to believe that everybody can learn any skill. Otherwise a lot of people wouldn’t even try.

Talent works like a katalysator. It accelerates the progress but it is not yet the product.

When you learn something, other persons may evolve faster than you do. Maybe because of their talent for a certain skill.

But on the other hand you might have more endurance and motivation in what you do, which the more talented person may lack. So in the end you might end up much more skilled than the person who had a good start, but who did not stick to the path.

So when you make a commitment to walk a path of mastery in any skill you want to achieve, then TRUST THE PROCESS of learning. Trust, that you will finally get the skillset.

Accecpt the fact, that...

...you may learn slow or fast

...the learning curve changes (that’s why it is a curve)

...there are plateaus on your way

...there are many pitfalls

...you will have bad AND good days

...you will sometimes loose sight of your goals

...you will get confused

...don’t know who you are anymore

...others will get success much earlier

...you maybe have to go through some pain

...others won’t accept your transformation

...(most in important for me) you oftentimes can't tell anymore, if you still want it.

...it is fun learning!

Don’t look externally.

If you do, you play a game you can’t win. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy. You will get a lot of evidence that you suck.

You’ll think that others go through the process all smooth, but instead those guys might have the same amount of problems as you. They might even think, that it is you, who makes the fastest progress.

I think, you get this twisted reality in your mind because of all the pitfalls and failures. They make you doubt, while you see other guys having success. Be aware that those experiences are part of the process.

The guys, who you think have more success than you do, have experienced and ARE EXPERIENCING the same pitfalls and failures as you do. They just don't show it, because it doesn't matter.

Looking externally will pump you with negative emotions. Those emotions do not show reality. They affect YOUR reality. That's why you should never make a decision based on emotions.

Try to focus on YOUR successes! Accept the emotions which come with failure and be aware that all failure is feedback. You’ll be on a good way.

POSITIVE thinking is so important! (try the positivity challenge)

When I get doubts about my progress, I ask myself:

„Veit, think logically. What is a logical outcome, when you go out 3 times a week and approach about 10 women a night, for about a year?“

My logical answer: „After a year, I MUST be better off than at the start. There is NO WAY I could not have improved by then.“

You don’t know how much your game will change in one year. You can’t know. But you can be sure to 100% that it will change. This is called long-term thinking.

And if you’re not a dumbass who approaches by spitting in a girl’s face, the change has to be in a positive way.

Think logically about the outcome. You will realize, that sticking to the process, must always lead you towards a higher level, than the one you are at now.

One last note: Don’t dwell on nights where you do not approach. I had those nights also, and immediately negative thoughts came into my head.

I thought, if I am not approaching tonight, I will loose this game! BULLSHIT!

Remember all the good nights you had. You’ve done it once, you can do it again.

Sometimes you’re so in your head that approaches seem impossible. I’ve been there countless times and I will be there countless times. I actually got headaches out in the field, because an emotional firework was going on in my head.

Don’t give a shit on those nights. You will learn from them. I learned from them.

Keep going! You will get where you want. Enjoy the way and the little results which come with it and you'll stay motivated to accomplish higher goals.

Think of it like cheating in a video game. First it seems cool to have what you want immediately, but you loose interest pretty fast. Play it step by step and you'll have fun for a long time and you are very excited when you get to the next level.

Cheers,

Veit a.k.a gogl
